A Natural Cycling Destination

Rolling hills, pristine forests and crystal clear waters make Northumberland County a natural – a top outdoor adventure destination. There's so much open space to explore. We've got the meandering cycling trails and routes to prove it. Be sure to download your copy of our Northumberland Cycling Adventures map guide.

For bike-friendly accommodations, please go to each cycling route or trail for suggestions or simply contact us, or there's the WarmShowers platform on which a few private residences are listed within Northumberland. You can also visit Ontario By Bike, of which Northumberland County is a founding member, to be connected to certified bicycle-friendly eateries, attractions and businesses in Ontario. They've also got a great blog that can help you plan the perfect cycling trip, even in the winter with fat biking in Northumberland County Forest.

Challenge yourself with a Century Ride (100 miles) featured on a specially-plotted map showing elevations. It's a looped 156 km ride using some legs of our 5 cycling routes below.

What about a 1000km ride? The Grand Great Lakes to Greenbelt Route is a 10-day cycling itinerary incorporating Cobourg, Port Hope, Port Dover and Niagara on the Lake. It features many Ontario-By-Bike-certified establishments.
