This popular bicycle route lets you explore Warkworth, Campbellford, the locks along the Trent-Severn Waterway, and the stunning Ranney Gorge. You're riding alongside the Trent River in 3 different spots. (63 km)
- Book a room at Emilyville Inn, Campbellford so you have the use of their mountain bikes and helmets. You'll be on the Trent River Truckin' route in minutes. Windswept on the Trent has 2 easy-ride bikes so you can ride south on County Road 30 to join this route.
- Start or finish in the village of Warkworth, a unique tourism cycling destination with artisan shops and cafés. A bike rack on the main street welcomes cyclists.
- When on Godolphin Rd. 7km south of County Rd. 35, there is a rail bed bisecting Godolphin Road. This is the Trans Canada Trail marked by interpretive signage (on the west side of Godolphin), outlining the history of the Godolphin flag station. Taking this rail trail westbound (dirt trail; touring bike recommended) will lead you 10 km north into Hastings where you can get a bite to eat. You can refer to our cycling map to see where the Trent River Truckin' route meets the Trans Canada Trail.
- The Great Trail (Rotary Trail) across from Tim Horton's in Campbellford leads to the thrilling Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge. Enjoy the view and cycle high above the waters of the Trent River below. The bridge leads you into Ferris Provincial Park.
- Northeast of Campbellford, you'll discover Church-Key Brewing, a former Methodist church (c. 1878) that is now home to some of the province's best-handcrafted beer.
- Watch boats locking through the internationally-renowned Trent-Severn Waterway at Healey Falls. You can camp at these locks for a minimal fee.
- Take in the sweet scent of lilacs at the end of May as part of this bike trail follows our lilac route at Godolphin Road.
Looking for a relaxed tourism cycling stay? Camping at Ferris Park is an affordable option off County Rd. 8 - or you can stay in the nearby Emilyville Inn in Campbellford.
