Camping in Northumberland takes on many different faces depending on which waterway you would like to tent or camp beside: the open waters of Lake Ontario and Rice Lake or the narrows of the Trent-Severn Waterway as you watch the boats navigate the system.

Two provincial parks have a variety of private campsites which you'll find plotted on our Google Map. Presqu'ile Provincial Park is a favourite among nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. They have added 3 Exploration Tents for a new way of camping, due to popular demand. Families will enjoy the Nature Centre, Lighthouse Interpretive Centre, sandy beaches, and various activities taking place throughout the park. All of these features make Presqu'ile an ideal getaway.

To the north of the county is Ferris Provincial Park located on the Trent-Severn Waterway. This relaxing area is rich with nature and beauty. View the rushing waters of the Trent River and Ranney Falls from the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge. Fish the Trent River and hike the trail system including the Trans Canada Trail that meanders through Ferris.

Rice Lake offers many cottage rentals, campsites and RV sites. The most unique experience is Island Spirits on Grasshopper Island, with off-grid cabins, and campsites. Go fishing, visit the Alderville First Nations Reserve, canoe the lake, or hike one of the many trails in the area.

For a more rustic, deep-woods experience ask Castleton Hills Trailer Park to be located uphill from the pond in their forested area.

For an upscale treat, try Whispering Springs north of Grafton offering 10 "glamping" style tents.
