The Waterfront Trail offers breathtaking, elevated views of Lake Ontario and the chance to get off the cycling trail and sink your toes into sandy beaches. (60 km)
Take Your Bike on VIA
In Cobourg, the Waterfront Trail is a few blocks south of Cobourg's VIA Rail Station. Ask about the VIA Rail bicycle service. On scheduled trains along the Montreal to Toronto corridor, you can disembark with your bike in Cobourg. Head south down George St. to take in the sites of Lake Ontario and the Marina.
GO with Your Bike
In Toronto, during non-rush hours you can take the GO Lakeshore East Train (leaves every 30 mins) with your bike on board. Disembark at the end of the line, which is Oshawa, and head 1 km east on Bloor Street, then south on Park Rd. S. to connect with the Waterfront Trail at Stone St. (6 kms in total GO Station to Waterfront Trail).
