Northumberland County lets you be adventurous, even in the winter. With skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking, disc golf and more, there's plenty of opportunity to take advantage of the season.

Trails
For hiking, fat biking, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing as well as ATV'ing and snowmobiling, there are trails in Northumberland County. Check the links for each trail to find out which activity is available.

Fat Biking
Continue your cycling adventure all winter long at the Carstairs Tract trailhead in the Northumberland County Forest.

Cross-Country Skiing
The Northumberland Forest offers plenty of opportunity to connect with nature as you glide through trails on your skis. The Ganaraska Forest is also a popular spot for cross-country enthusiasts.

Snowmobiling
Bundle up and ride safely on Northumberland County snowmobiling trails. Check with each trail organization to confirm conditions and trail status.

Disc Golf
Disc golf isn't just a summer sport – Haute Goat Disc Golf is open for winter play as well! In addition, if you're an enthusiast you can check UDisc for information on short courses in Cobourg to help hone your skills all year long.

Birding
Even in the winter, Presqu'ile Provincial Park is a hot spot for birders who visit for a chance to see snowy owls, ducks, song birds and sometimes even a surprise migratory visitor. Other trails in the county are popular with birders including Hazel Bird Nature Reserve and Port Hope Waterfront Trail. Check the trails page for more details.
