The village is also the focus of the Rolling Hills Central Arts road trip, taking you from Grafton to Warkworth.
If you're an avid cyclist, the signed Shelter Valley 50km loop will take you up to Vernonville and down to Lake Ontario at Grafton for spectacular views. For the recreational cyclist, try the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
Antique, book and gift shops are found in the 1812 Heritage Building. Visit the historic Barnum House Museum that you can walk around and read an interpretive sign out front.
South of Grafton is the Nawautin Nature Sanctuary. The peaceful trail winds through a restored wetland habitat. Take pictures on a picturesque covered wooden foot-bridge and then enjoy the sounds of waves at the shore of Lake Ontario. This sanctuary is a great spot to watch for wildlife or relax on the water.
