Northumberland County offers music to make you dance or break into song. Enjoy fiddlers, concert pianists, opera singers and more. The venues are as diverse as the music - from a concert in a barn to outdoor concerts near the beach.

Music Concerts & Events

The Apple Country Jamboree is a 4-day classic country jamboree in Colborne. Camp on the grounds or stop by for the stage shows.

The Cameco Capitol Arts Centre brings you top quality productions, concerts, and special events in one of two theatres – The Capitol Theatre, Canada's only "Atmospheric Theatre", and The Sculthorpe Theatre, an intimate concert and event setting with 80 to 150 seats.

Break up your week from July through August with the Cobourg 89.7 Summer Concert Series, free concerts held at the Victoria Park Bandshell. Just bring your lawn chair.

Come to Port Hope in September for Cultivate, a 3-day, family-friendly, farm-to-table festival. Celebrate local food and drink with music events and lots of local culture.

The Concert Band of Cobourg is a rich part of the region's musical experience. Enjoy the Summer Concert Band Series with great musicians, composers, and arrangers who live in Northumberland.

Westben offers a summer concert series with a range of music styles, all set in a gorgeous 400-seat barn, the Willow Hill Amphitheatre or around The Campfire. In addition, fall, winter and digital concerts are all part of their annual schedule.

 

Music Groups

La Jeunesse Choir logo

For memorable performances from Northumberland's youth, you'll enjoy the diverse musical talents of the La Jeunesse Choir. All singers range from 7 to 17 years of age.

Year-round concerts are offered by the talented group of young musicians with La Jeunesse Youth Orchestra. They practice hard and are supported by an incredible board of dedicated volunteers.

Take in the music of Beethoven, Brahms, Lauridsen and Stravinsky with the Northumberland Orchestra and Choir. Collaborative performances have included guests Anastasia Rizikov, Mary Elizabeth Brown and the Sultans of String.

Come hear the Oriana Singers, a 60-voice mixed choir that performs an eclectic range of great classics. Take in their special concerts in Port Hope and Cobourg.

From budding violinists to singers, there are 70 children in Sounds of the Next Generation (SONG). It's a choral and orchestral program for Northumberland youth.

In its 36th year, Les AMIS nurtures talented young musicians at the earliest stages of their professional careers. Treat yourself to their year-round concerts.
