Cultivate brings vibrant music and local food together to celebrate life in Northumberland. Get in the groove with your family at Haute Goat Farm. Musical acts include Joel Plaskett Emergency, Amanda Rheaume, The Ontario All-Star Bluegrass Band – and about 15 more. Taste the harvest goodness served by local food vendors. Enjoy craft beer and beverages from local breweries. The kids can enjoy activities like theatre workshops, folk camp and story time.
Capitol Theatre, Port Hope

What do The Producers, Frankenstein and East of Eden have in common? This year’s Festival theme is breakout roles, featuring films which made a cast member a star. Held at the historic Capitol Theatre, the Festival also includes two silent films (with live piano accompaniment). Organized by The Marie Dressler Foundation, the weekend features a pass for all 13 classic films ($79) or the option to add movies for ($10) each. Proceeds support the Foundation's educational mandate, including student bursaries. Buy tickets online here.

This historic theatre is noted to be Ontario's only "atmospheric theatre". That means you can sit back and take in the magical setting of the starry canopy that surrounds you as you take in live theatre or musical performances. Enjoy Tommy Youngsteen’s Fleetwood Mac “Rumours” on September 24. On October 16, get in tune with Buzz Brass, one of Canada’s best brass quintets. Or attend the Vintage Film Festival from October 21-23.

Halfway between Cobourg and Port Hope you’ll notice this place because of the giant white theatre screen. Built in 1947, this venue is Canada's oldest operating drive-in theatre. Tickets cannot be purchased in advance, but you can check here for movie times. Movies are shown 7 days a week when there is demand.
