Northumberland County offers a multitude of ways to enjoy the season. Get out for a day of snowshoeing or skiing in the Northumberland County Forest or head out on a winter-friendly trail. Stop into one of our sweet communities for equally sweet treats and hot drinks, perfect to enjoy after skating on an outdoor rink. If snowmobiling is more your speed, take a trip to Hastings and the surrounding communities of Trent Hills.

Once the conditions are right, beginners and seasoned anglers can expect to see perch, crappie and sunfish while ice fishing on Rice Lake. While you’re in the area, stop for a bite of breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Rhino’s Roadhouse in Bewdley. It’s the perfect way to fuel (or refuel) your winter adventures.

You can also take in our wonderful winter views from the warmth of your car by heading to Campbellford to check out (and walk across, if you dare) the Ranney Gorge Suspension Bridge. Enjoy the scenic drive over our rolling hills with all your faves – friends, family, and foods like Dooher’s Bakery’s famous doughnuts, fresh cheese curds from Empire Cheese Factory, worth-the-winter-drive butter tarts, and the flavours go on.
