Scottâ€™s Barn Lavender Festival is a beautiful way to enjoy summer in the countryside. Other events that take you to Northumberlandâ€™s rolling hills and beautiful communities: Monarchs and Migrants Weekend, Roseneath Car/Truck/Tractor Show N' Shine, Chrome on the Canal, and the Warkworth Long Lunch.
Live music is exceptional at the Shelter Valley Folk Festival! The Park Theatre and Performing Arts Centre, Capitol Theatre, Westben Concerts at the Barn and the Brighton Barn Theatre all have an exciting summer line up of musical and theatrical performances!
If you love to be on the waterfront be sure not miss the Cobourg Sandcastle Festival, Lakeside Antique & Classic Car Show, Northumberland Ribfest, Trash â€˜N Treasures, Harwood Waterfront Festival or the Hastings Waterfront Festival.
Fishing is popular around Northumberland and there is no shortage of exciting fishing events. Fish Northumberlandâ€™s lakes, rivers and streams, license free during Ontario Family Fishing Week. Another great family fishing experience is the Bob Izumiâ€™s Kids, Cops & Canadian Tire Fishing Days in Port Hope. For the more serious anglers the Great Ontario Salmon Derby takes place along Lake Ontario and has charters from Port Hope.
Every Saturday you can taste the county's fresh fair at Farmers' Markets in Cobourg, Port Hope, Hastings, Campbellford and Brighton.
